Day 1 – Fly out to Hanoi
Fly overnight from London and begin your journey to experience the wonders of Vietnam and Cambodia. Arrive ready to explore a region rich in culture, history, and natural beauty, from vibrant cities and ancient temples to tranquil waterways and rural landscapes. This unforgettable adventure offers a captivating introduction to Southeast Asia’s most iconic destinations and experiences.
Day 2 – Hanoi
Day 3 & 4 – Ha Long Bay cruise
Travel to Tuan Chau Harbour to board the Bhaya Classic for a two-night cruise. Sail among limestone islets and enjoy a Vietnamese lunch on board. Kayak in the tranquil Tung Sau area, known for pearl farming, before watching sunset over the bay. Visit Luon Cave by rowing boat and explore Cua Van Floating Village. Relax on board or enjoy evening activities as you cruise through the stunning scenery of Ha Long Bay.
Day 5 – Sung Sot Cave, Tuan Chau, Hanoi, Da Nang
Explore Sung Sot Cave, a vast 10,000-square-metre cavern with a 500-metre walkway winding through impressive rock formations. Also known as Surprise Cave, each chamber reveals striking natural features. Afterwards, return to Tuan Chau and transfer to Hanoi airport for your flight to Da Nang, continuing to Hoi An, where you will settle in and prepare to explore this charming riverside town.
Day 6 & 7 – Hoi An
Begin your day with an immersive Insider Experience, offering deeper insight into local culture and traditions. Afterwards, enjoy free time to relax or explore at your own pace. The following day, discover Hoi An independently, with a range of optional experiences available. In the evening, you may wish to join a curated dining experience, sampling authentic Vietnamese cuisine in a memorable setting.
Day 8 – Hue
Enjoy a free afternoon to explore Vietnam’s former Imperial capital, set along the scenic Perfume River. Wander at your own pace before savouring regional cuisine this evening. The next day, explore the Imperial Citadel, visiting historic monuments while learning about royal life. Later, fly to Ho Chi Minh City, the bustling metropolis formerly known as Saigon, where a delightful dinner awaits on arrival.
Day 9 & 10 – Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi tunnels
Take some time to wander around Ho Chi Minhh before your visit to the Cu Chi tunnels, an extensive underground network used during the Vietnam War for shelter, transport, and living quarters. Crawl through a section to experience the confined conditions. Later, enjoy free time or choose optional touring and dining experiences. The next day begins with an Insider Experience before travelling to My Tho to board the RV Lotus for your seven-night Mekong River cruise.
Day 11 & 12 – Boarding the RV Lotus, Cai Be, Sa Dec
Board the RV Lotus and enjoy it at your pace. The next day will be exploring Cai Be by tender boat, observing daily life along the riverbanks. Visit Cai Be Church, known for its striking bell tower, and local workshops producing rice paper and coconut candy. Cruise to Sa Dec for a guided tour, including colourful markets and the former home of Huynh Thuy Le. Return on board to relax or enjoy the spa before continuing your journey towards Tan Chau as the sun sets.
Day 13 – Tan Chau
Travel by small boat through Tan Chau’s narrow waterways, gaining insight into local river life. Take a rickshaw ride through town and visit a traditional rattan weaving workshop. Later, explore Evergreen Island to observe rural farming methods, including fields ploughed by water buffalo. Relax on board as you cruise towards Cambodia, enjoying activities and presentations while border formalities are completed.
Day 14 – Phnom Penh
Learn about Cambodia’s history under the Khmer Rouge with visits to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields, where a memorial honours those who lost their lives. After lunch, explore the Royal Palace, admired for its white and gold architecture, and the nearby Silver Pagoda. Day 15 – Phnom Penh, Oudong, Koh Chen
Travel to Oudong, Cambodia’s former royal capital, and enjoy a meaningful Insider Experience. On the return journey to Phnom Penh, stop at Koh Chen, a village known for its copperware craftsmanship. Day 16 – Oknha Tey
Cruise to Silk Island, renowned for its long-standing silk weaving traditions. Travel by tuk tuk through rural landscapes, passing rice fields and stilted homes. Learn about the intricate weaving process and watch local artisans create Khmer fabrics on wooden looms. Return to your ship for lunch as you continue sailing along the Mekong towards Angkor Ban, enjoying the peaceful riverside scenery.
Day 17 – Angkor Ban, Kampong Cham
Explore Angkor Ban on a guided walk through one of Cambodia’s few surviving traditional villages. Stroll past well-preserved stilted houses and visit a Khmer-style pagoda while learning about local history. Later, arrive in Kampong Cham for an Insider Experience. In the evening, gather with fellow travellers for a Farewell Dinner on board, reflecting on your Mekong River journey.
Day 18 to 20 – Siem Reap
After disembarking the ship in Kampong Cham, travel to Siem Reap and visit the jungle temple of Ta Prohm. Rise early the next day for an Insider Experience at Angkor Archaeological Park. Explore Angkor Wat on a guided tour before returning for breakfast. Day 21 – Depart Siem Reap and fly back to London
