Your Itinerary

Day 1 & 2 – Johannesburg

Depart from Heathrow on an overnight flight to Johannesburg.

Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. After lunch, take the afternoon to relax and adjust to your surroundings, unwinding from your journey. Dinner will be served at the hotel this evening, providing a peaceful end to your first day.

Day 3 – Transfer to Camp Bethel

Day 3 – Transfer to Camp Bethel

After breakfast, set off on a scenic journey to Camp Bethel, your home for the next six nights, with a lunch stop en route. Upon arrival in the late afternoon, you’ll have a brief orientation and time to freshen up.

Enjoy your first night in the African bush, perhaps with a sundowner as the sunset colors the sky. Before dinner, gather at the boma for a warm welcome by the fire. Dinner will be served on a deck overlooking the bush—keep an eye out for bush babies in the trees!

Day 4 – Safari in Kruger National Park

Rise early for a short journey to Kruger National Park’s Orpen Gate, where you’ll encounter the majestic Big Five—lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and buffalo—along with birdlife like vultures and eagles. Enjoy a packed breakfast during a picnic stop in the park’s scenic southern region, known for its lush landscapes. After lunch at a rest camp, continue your open-air safari, exploring waterholes and lookout points before returning to camp for a relaxing dinner by the campfire.
Day 5 – Wildlife Rehabilitation Tour & Nature Walk

After breakfast, visit a local wildlife rehabilitation center caring for injured and poisoned animals that can’t be released back into the wild. Begin with a film presentation, then embark on a two-hour tour, getting close to cheetahs, African wild dogs, and vultures. The center is involved in research, including leopard behavior studies. After lunch, you can opt for a boat cruise on the Blyde River Canyon, featuring the Kadishi Tufa Waterfall and Three Rondavels.

Stay alert for buffalos and elephants as your guide shares their expert knowledge of wildlife. Kruger National Park hosts an incredible variety of species, including 146 mammals, nearly 500 birds, 114 reptiles, 49 freshwater fish, 33 amphibians, and countless insects, plants, and other unique flora and fauna. After an exciting morning, enjoy lunch in a dry riverbed at camp. At dusk, consider joining an optional night safari to witness the transformation of the bush as nocturnal animals like caracals, bush babies, porcupines, and ant bears emerge to hunt under the changing sky and new scents of the night.
Day 7 – Panoramic Mountain Tour

After a delicious breakfast in the camp’s boma area, embark on a breathtaking panoramic mountain tour—be sure to bring your camera! You’ll explore the Drakensberg Mountain Range, spanning over 600 miles, and visit the Blyde River Canyon, the world’s third-largest canyon at 16 miles long and 2,000 feet deep. Highlights include the Three Rondavels, God’s Window with its stunning views, and Lisbon Falls, a 308-foot-high waterfall. Enjoy lunch in Graskop, a charming town known for its pancakes, before returning to camp
Day 8 – Safari & Nature Walk

This morning, enjoy a final safari in a private reserve within the Greater Kruger National Park, soaking in the beauty of this unique paradise. After breakfast at a scenic picnic spot, your guide will explain the vital plant life, including the iconic marula tree, used to make South Africa’s famous Amarula liquor. After lunch, join a nature walk, spotting zebra, kudu, and more, then visit Nyani cultural village for a vibrant performance. End the day with a traditional South African braai, sharing stories with new friends.
Day 9 & 10 – Transfer to Johannesburg & Home

After breakfast, bid farewell to the wonderful staff at Camp Bethel and transfer to Johannesburg airport for your overnight flight.
Reflect on the unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience as you head home with cherished memories. Depart Johannesburg and board your flight to London, enjoying a restful journey across time zones before arriving home.
